Thursday 28th April
The Wedding Club, Knightsbridge
What a lovely way to start the day – delicious, fresh coffee steaming in my cup, orange juice & pastries spread on the table, and beautiful wedding dresses filling my vision.
I love The Wedding Club as a bridal shop to recommend to Corinthia brides – the service is unparalleled and the range of dresses beautiful and exclusive. When I received the invitation to preview the Carolina Herrera Spring 2017 collection, I quickly set to rearranging my daily appointments – I could not miss this!
Carolina Herrera is, besides being a personal favourite, one of the most loved bridal designers around and has designed dresses for celebrities and royalty the world over. Her dresses revolve around the concept of being feminine and classic, yet they still retain that contemporary feel that is oh so desirable.
This year the dresses have been inspired by old-world silhouettes and brought into the twenty-first century with barely-there back designs and pearl-studded detailing. In true Herrera style the designs follow clean lines to create a simple sophistication with timeless traditional shapes.
To quote Herrera: “I have a responsibility to the woman of today – to make her feel confident, modern and above all else beautiful.” This can not only be seen but felt in her designs! The high level of craftsmanship is outstanding and any bride will feel honoured to wear such a work of art.
A moment to bring a smile to the face was seeing Carolina Herrera’s signature white blouse incorporated into a stunning gown with a daring slit and pin-tuck detailing which pulled together the tailored look. Such an inventive take on the wedding dress is something to be celebrated.
Of course, silk crepe, tulle, organza and lace, to name but a few, were all featured in the show. The variety of fabric and styles used was enough to get all the guests at The Wedding Club very excited, myself included!
The floral appliqué was definitely a talking point – so fashion-forward and yet adorable to see a beautiful gown featuring little daisy designs.
With oversized bows, layered lace and plunging necklines all drifting past me, the CH Spring 2017 collection was no disappointment. I cannot wait to recommend it to our beautiful Corinthia brides who need some dress inspiration!
With love from Corinthia London,
