It is once again the time of year when those of us in the wedding industry have a little bit of a breather from the hectic nuptial season. This is (of course!) lovely and interspersed with the occasional beautiful weekends of wedded bliss which keep our cogs turning and our party appetites whetted. It also presents the perfect opportunity to invite some of our favourite wedding planners, bloggers, agents and suppliers to a sumptuous breakfast in The Ballroom, something we love to do so that we can show you how Corinthia London can host your dream wedding…
The Little Details
All the colours chosen for the breakfast were delicate and fabulously feminine – pinks, purples and creams – and all of our suppliers worked flawlessly as a team to make each and every item complement the other. The furniture (and some sensational sparkly cushions!) were provided by Great Hire, the gentle, pastel colours looking elegant against the ornate backdrop provided by our original Victorian Ballroom.
Our in-house florists, By Appointment Only Design, outdid themselves as always. The bouquets on the tables were composed of flowers in a variety of whites and just the gentlest blush of pale pink with plenty of greenery. This allowed the peach and lavender hues of the ornate glassware from Duchess & Butler to catch your eye and draw your attention to the rest of the rest of the elegant table setting.
Last, but very definitely not least, a five-tiered wedding cake stood resplendent in the sunlight at the far end of the Ballroom. A masterpiece of sugar-work roses, edible gold and magnificent piping, it was all the result of Abigail Bloom’s labours, and her passion for creating beautiful cakes definitely shone through!
The Breakfast kicked off at 10am with refreshing glasses of Buck’s Fizz or fresh Orange Juice served to guests on arrival. A lively group of Wedding Planners, Bloggers, Magazine Editors, Instagrammers and Agents, it wasn’t long before The Ballroom’s original 1885 ceiling was echoing with happy chatter.
Photographer Jez Dickson, who had taken pictures of the room before everyone’s arrival, proceeded to weave his way through the crowd capturing moments and smiles from the guests. Abigail Bloom’s light and lovely lemon cake was also circulating and went down a treat – who can resist a bit of cake before breakfast?
After a little spell of catching-up, introducing and photo-taking, our guests had a short introductory speech from Laura Shimeld, Head of Events at Corinthia London, before being invited to take their seats for a classic Corinthia breakfast. The velvety scrambled eggs on toasted brioche were absolutely delicious and came either with a choice of smoked salmon from the wilds of Scotland or ripe, buttery avocado. Needless to say every plate was spotless at the end of the meal!
After breakfast the guests were invited for a tour of the hotel to see the stunning spaces that could feature at a Corinthia London wedding, and even had a sneak peek of some of our stunning Penthouses… Once the tour was complete, we arrived back in The Lobby Lounge where our guests were already Instagramming and Tweeting away!
We really look forward to welcoming them all back very soon. Don’t forget to like and follow us on Instagram at withlovefromcorinthia for more inspiration and ideas on how to make your wedding day the day of your dreams.
