Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue… or greenery. Greenery? Yes, greenery. For those who are unaware, Pantone’s colour of the year for 2017 is greenery and although it may sound somewhat unappealing, even confusing especially if you ever want to incorporate it into your wedding day, think of it this way, the colour symbolizes new beginnings and a fresh start. It is also a representation of the environment, a popular conversation we tend to hear these days, which has now found its way into the fashion scene. So what better way to step into your new marriage with a little encouragement from Mother Nature herself?

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Insitute describes ‘Greenery’ as the following: “ Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a large purpose.”

‘Greenery’ has quickly infiltrated through into the fashion houses and can be seen in the 2017 Spring runway collections, such as Pucci and Balenciaga. It will not be long before we see this color making its way into the interior design areas and of course, weddings!

So what does this all mean for brides? Well, this crisp shade is simply perfect for a Spring/ Summer wedding and what better way to combine earth and nature into your special day, then with the use of this vibrant colour.

Including this spectacular shade into your day is easy, such as combining it into your stationary, bouquet, bridesmaid dresses, linen, attire, table decorations, floral displays, food and so much more! The usage of foliage, succulents as well as green agate will all lend themselves to creating a perfect backdrop for your wedding.

As it is a neutral shade, we also suggest pairing it with metallic such a gold and bronze, as well as with soft pastels. ‘Greenery’ also works well when coupled with similar tranquil hues. Our Ballroom is perfect for this, due to its neutral palette and silver detail, which will make for a fantastic 2017 wedding!

We hope that you have lots of fun playing around with this year’s most sought after colour!

With love
