1954 may seem like a relatively uneventful year to most, but to us 1954 marks the year that La Perla was born. A skilled artisan in the tradition of hand crafted Italian corsetry, Ada Masotti was destined to be successful when she launched her lingerie atelier in Bologna. The name “La Perla” was inspired by a case lined in red velvet in which she presented her intimate creations as though they were jewels…

Fast forward to 2016, and La Perla has now been bought by a British holding company, but the quality and original Italian passion remains evident in the beautiful creations that are gracing the shop floors

Last month saw the opening of the new flagship store on Old Bond Street, where the shop offers a new luxurious service that we can’t help but be excited about for our brides and brides-to-be – La Perla Made-to-Measure.

The Made-to-Measure service offers customers three collections to choose from: La Perla Maison, La Perla Filigrane and the Cristaillo Nero collection. Any piece that you select is made to order to ensure a seamless, perfect fit and this will leave you feeling flawlessly elegant – pretty important for your wedding day!

On arriving at the flagship store we were shown round by the lovely Bond Street Store Manager, Abigail, who handed us a glass of Champagne and talked us through the different collections, showing us many of the incredible bridal pieces as well as some luxury items from the honeymoon collection. Every piece was absolutely exquisite.

The La Perla, Bond Street store is spread over three beautiful floors, displaying gorgeous lingerie as well as swim and beach wear. There are private areas making it the ideal location for a hen party – picture you and your friends sipping Champagne and nibbling cake whilst trying on the magnificent La Perla pieces. Feminine fun in all its glory!
