MOTM POLL: BORUSSIA DORTMUND HUMBLED IN LEIPZIG

Borussia Dortmund might be one of the top four teams in Europe, but today they wanted to prove they’re also fifth best in Germany. Typical, right? The Match started positively with an early lead through Jadon Sancho, but BVB were quick to shoot themselves in the foot. Let’s hope this utter capitulation is out of their system now and all focus can be drawn to Tuesday’s match against PSG.

Here are our Picks for Man of the Match:

Jadon Sancho

Sancho had a brilliant, curled effort to open the scoring and increase his personal tally against the Red Bulls that put Dortmund on the front foot for a brief moment. He was the most dangerous attacking player and found himself frequently involved in challenges at either end of the pitch.

Julian Brandt

I would suggest that Brandt had difficulty finding his rhythm in this match, but he played ninety minutes and never misplaced a pass. He was far from Dortmund’s problem in midfield but equally far from his best. So that’s impressive.

Nico Schlotterbeck

Nico won all of his tackles and the majority of his ground duals. However, he was also drawn out of position on more than one of Leipzig's goals.

Marius Wolf

Wolf wasn't actively bad. I know I’m scraping at the barrel here.
