ENGLAND'S JORDAN PICKFORD WORE JEANS AND CAP TO WEDDING – AND RUINED WIFE'S £500K RING

Jordan Pickford is once again proving that he is England's safest pair of hands at Euro 2024.

When all else has seemed dire for Gareth Southgate's side, the Three Lions can at least feel assured knowing that they have a reliable base at the back. Pickford, now in the midst of his fourth major tournament as England’s No.1 goalkeeper, has kept two clean sheets in four matches in Germany.

The Everton shot-stopper made history in doing so, overtaking Peter Shilton’s record with 11 clean sheets at major tournaments. And cheering him on along the way, including the nail-biting 2-1 win over Slovakia, has been his wife Megan.

Megan, 28, and Pickford, 30, met when they were just teenagers at school. They tied the knot in March 2020, after the birth of their son Arlo in February 2019.

Megan - who regularly shares glamorous photos with her thousands of Instagram followers - loves shopping in designer stores and has even taken private jets to matches. She first shared news of their engagement at the 2018 World Cup when she posted a snap of herself, praying during the nerve-wracking penalty shoot-out against Colombia with a huge ring on her finger.

Pickford announced that Megan had given birth to baby Arlo in February 2019, sharing a picture of a babygrow adorned with the words: "My daddy likes to… ‘Get the rave on!’" He captioned it by saying he was “over the moon” and “couldn’t be prouder”.

But Megan’s dreams of a luxury wedding were scuppered due to the pandemic, having to settle for a lowkey ceremony in 2020 thanks to Coronavirus. Only Arlo and five other guests were in attendance.

And Pickford showed his feelings towards the ceremony by opting to wear a tracksuit, ripped jeans and a baseball cap, while Megan wore a blouse and white fur. They finally got the wedding they desired in March 2022, when they jetted off to the Maldives to tie the knot for a second time on a picturesque golden beach, with family and friends in attendance.

She announced on Instagram in May 2020: “We’re getting married in the morning. Well we should have been! It’s all gone a bit Pete Tong, so here’s a throwback of us on our legal registry office day since there are bigger things going on in the world right now. You are worth the wait my love @jpickford1”.

A Covid-19 wedding wasn’t the first major hurdle in their relationship, however. A month before Arlo’s birth, the couple suffered another engagement disaster.

The former Sunderland goalkeeper splashed out on a huge diamond ring, believed to be worth in the region of £500,000. But he could only watch in horror as it got stuck on Megan’s finger after she suffered with water retention due to her pregnancy.

A desperate Megan took to Instagram to ask whether her followers had any advice, having already tried washing up liquid, butter and ice in an attempt to squeeze the ring off. And after making a tough decision, she revealed two hours later on social media: "We've been to the jewellers for the chop.

“Thanks so much everyone for the messages. I'll try and reply once I have feeling back in my fingers."

The birth of their daughter, Ostara, appeared to be a more straightforward period in 2023. The family of four now live in a luxury £2.1million mansion located in Cheshire’s 'Golden Triangle'.

The property reportedly includes plush interiors, a home cinema, a large garden and a jacuzzi, as well as a nursery for their young daughter.
