Vera Wang at Browns, 59 Brook Street
Thursday 16th June 5.30 – 7 pm
“Courtly love, modern grandeur, sheer seduction, secret rendezvous, silent signals, day for night, gardens of regal delights.”
What better way to finish off a busy Thursday than with a cool glass of Champagne in your hand admiring the fantastic creations of Vera Wang?
This delightful evening was hosted by Vera Wang at Browns, a designer store managed by the charming Katie Dreyer. It truly provided the perfect, elegant backdrop for the Vera Wang wedding gowns, and the team couldn’t have been more welcoming. Lots of familiar faces attended the event, with members of the press and plenty of fellow professionals from the wedding industry joining us to admire the Spring 2017 Collection. And what a collection!
Vera Wang is not one to follow the rules, and this season’s dresses are truly something to behold.
“Bess” and “Dagmar”
Structured bodices and cascading, and regal skirts that give some of the gowns an aura of opulent, historic Spain; but far from following the rigid rules of 18th century society these dresses have sheer fabrics, bodices that hint at the bare skeletons of corsetry, and exaggerated ruffs.
Indeed, Wang seems to have taken great joy in marrying fluid and structured silhouettes with boning and corsetry, and lace and silk working side by side to create these unique dresses.
This is the perfect collection for the bride-to-be who wishes to feel like she is starring in her own romantic period drama – with crystals, lace, feathers and tulle all present in abundance.
(Above and below) “Viola”
We hope you love them as much as we do!
With love from Corinthia London,
