As V day is drawing closer, many of you are no doubt hoping that perhaps, this is the day that your significant other will whisk you off your feet and pop that ever most important question. So, in the lead up to Tuesday, we thought we would share some of our favourite weddings of all time, weddings that were filled with oodles of romance, fashion, smiles and jaw-dropping venues. All which can offer some inspiration for your own nuptials!
2016 also saw some wonderful weddings, such as Italia Ricci and Robbie Ammel’s gorgeous LA wedding, which might we add was a long time coming, they started dating in 2008 and got engaged in 2014! As always, Ricci looked stunning, in her classic Rosa Clara gown and Robbie didn’t look too bad himself, sporting his Vera Wang tuxedo!
We cannot forget about the classics- Elizabeth Taylor’s marriage to Conrad Hilton, is also one of our absolute favourites! Taylor, known for her charm and beauty was married seven times. However, her wedding to hotel tycoon Conrad Hilton was special, as it was the first of her marriages that she was committed too! Only lasting a year, it is definitely still worth a mention!
George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin’s wedding is also top on our list. They tied the knot in the Aman Canal Grande Luxury Resort in Venice in 2014 in front of a star-studded crowd. Guests included Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford and John Kransinski. They arrived at the venue in a Riva boat, talk about utter style! Alamuddin looked gorgeous in her Oscar de La Renta off the shoulder, French lace gown- hand embroidered with pearls. Needless to say- Wow!
The sexiest wedding award must go to Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello! The couple became husband and wife in a lavish, romantic four-day celebration at The Breakers hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. The venue was completely covered in thousands of white flowers. Vergara walked down the aisle in a custom made Zuhair Murad couture gown. Sofia’s dress showed off her signature strapless neckline, paired with Lorraine Schwartz’s finest jewellery.
We thought we would leave the best to last, our very own Prince William and Kate Middleton. This was the most talked about wedding, viewed by 26 million people worldwide. Held in the iconic Westminster Abbey, the world watched as Kate stepped out of her classic white car, wearing an elegant long-sleeved lace Alexander McQueen dress, an ever so perfect choice for a Royal bride.
So there you have it, some of our most loved weddings!
