Give a big cheer, for the New Year! In the party spirit we are looking at how to host the perfect New Year’s Eve wedding!
So why hold one of the most important days of your life on the last day of the year? Well firstly the festive frenzy is finally over and everyone is ready to party, trying to make a reservation on New Year’s Eve can be particularly tricky as well as stressing over where to go, and it can be a bit of an anti-climax, but when has a wedding ever been a disappointment?!
Here are our top tips on holding a Corinthia New Year’s Eve wedding:
Be Smart – Everyone loves to dress up on New Year’s Eve so make it a black tie dress code for an elegant evening.
Sparkle – What better day of the year than New Year’s Eve to dazzle your guests with your décor, whether it is sequins, metallic touches or glitter for a subtle sparkle or full-on glam!
Extend – It is definitely worth looking into and paying the additional amount for a bar license extension… no party on New Year’s Eve ends at midnight – it’s only just the beginning!
Balloons – Look into metallic balloons for decoration. These ones from Bubblegum Balloons look great and can also be used to release and make wishes!
Transport – Make sure you consider your guests and their transport – encourage them to take a room for the night. For those that wish to head home, why not hire a vintage Routemaster bus to drop them off safely whilst avoiding astronomical taxi fares.
Babysitters/Nannies – It is lovely to have children at your wedding but they won’t last the whole day and night. We can help arrange reliable nannies to take the kids off your hands (and any worry!) and look after them while you and your guests party.
Party with a View – If there is one thing we do incredibly well at Corinthia London, it’s our views. Why not stay in one of our stunning Penthouses and spend midnight as newlyweds on your own private terrace watching the fireworks over the London Eye? There’s no disputing that you’d have the best view in town!
Champagne – Keep it flowing! Even if you serve nothing else that night, Champagne is the way to go…sophisticated, delicious and perfect for celebrating the start of a new year!
Go all out – Whether with flowers, stationery or food, with New Year’s Eve as your wedding day you can really pull out all the stops and create the WOW factor!
The morning after – Start the year as you mean to go on and enjoy a New Year’s Day brunch the following morning in The Northall. Perfect as a final get-together with your guests before you all head your separate ways.
From all of us here at Corinthia London we wish you a fabulous 2016!
With love from Corinthia London,
