Jetting off on a long holiday right after your big day, sounds like a fabulous idea but it is becoming more and more unrealistic due to more extravagant weddings taking place leaving not much time to plan your long trip. However a break to unwind after the special day is much needed and this is were the mini moon comes in.

We absolutely love the idea of a mini moon. Increasing in popularity, these short breaks are just ideal for couples wanting to get a way from it all, without travelling a far. Mini moons are the perfect way of treating and pampering yourself whilst avoiding those typical honeymoon destinations! They also allow you less time off work, which always a plus with your boss.

Here is a list of our top mini moon destinations

Great weather, friendly people, lots of history and just a short flight from London makes it top of our list. Being located in the South Mediterranean, means that there is guaranteed sun almost all year round! Hop on an early flight from London and get there just in time for an al fresco lunch!

Where to stay: Corinthia Palace Hotel or Corinthia St. Georges Hotel

Just a 2 hour flight away, Budapest is a top spa destination and bubbling with new talent and hip places. The river Danube separates the city into two areas, Buda and Pest, both different and offering something unique. There are lots of under the radar, cool artsy places to check out so get yourself over there quickly!

Prague is uber bohemian and is perfect for a quick city break. With its cobbled streets and interesting gothic architecture, it makes for a great little romantic weekend trip. Don’t forget to check out the iconic 13th century Charles Bridge which connects the old town with the foot of the castle.

Probably one of Europe’s coolest cities right now! Lisbon sits on seven hills forming a unique open-end amphitheatre. Lisbon is flooded with new and hip rooftop bars offering spectacular views and varying from chic hotel bars, to quirky barrio hideouts. The culinary scene is also buzzing, with chefs such as Nuno Mendes and Jose Avillez, there is no shortage of delicious food. Be sure to also check out the fantastic seafood restaurants. Our favourite being Cervejaria Ramiro.
