AUNG LA N SANG TO FACE UNDEFEATED PHENOM SHAMIL ERDOGAN IN MMA FIGHT AT ONE 168: DENVER

An explosive middleweight MMA showdown between former two-division ONE World Champion Aung La N Sang and undefeated Turkish sensation Shamil Erdogan is heading to ONE 168: Denver.

Set for U.S. primetime on Friday, September 6, that intriguing matchup pits one of the sport’s most decorated veterans against a supremely talented rising star at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.

In one corner, Aung La N Sang boasts 15 wins across his incredible ONE tenure, which has seen him claim both middleweight and light heavyweight MMA gold.

Although he hasn’t held a ONE World Title since 2021, the 39-year-old is showing few signs of slowing down.

He’ll come into the contest riding a three-fight winning streak, with stoppage victories over Japanese MMA icon Yushin Okami, Brazilian powerhouse Gilberto Galvao, and perennial tough out Fan Rong.

“The Burmese Python” will now look to keep that streak alive, and he’s likely to enjoy a hero’s welcome in Denver.

Even though he was born in Myanmar – where he is a national sporting hero – Aung La N Sang has spent the majority of his career training in the United States, building up a rabid American fan base.

However, he’s in for a tough test against Erdogan in Denver.

A former member of the Turkish Olympic Freestyle Wrestling team, Erdogan is a world-class grappler who employs his elite takedown game, prodigious athleticism, and surprisingly technical striking to dominate opponents.

He’s made a seamless transition to MMA so far, racking up a 9-0 record to begin his professional career.

That includes his promotional debut last June at ONE Friday Fights 22, as the 33-year-old scored an emphatic TKO victory over Fan – good for this fourth straight finish.

With a victory over Aung La N Sang at ONE 168, Erdogan would further announce himself as a serious player in the talent-stacked middleweight MMA division.

On the other side, the Myanmar legend wants to prove he still owns all the skills and show-stopping power needed to hang with the next generation of ONE superstars.
