Bayern Munich bested Brazilian team Flamengo in the last 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup which earned them a tie against the in-form Paris Saint-Germain, who won the UEFA Champions League Final at Bayern’s ground just over a month ago. The Bavarians did win against the Parisians in the group phase of that tournament, with Kim Min-jae’s header the decider in a tight affair. Things have changed since then, and Bayern is somewhat inferior to the European champions, but they’ll certainly give them a run for their money.
No room for errors here, so a full-strength squad will be needed.
It’s near enough the same lineup that was fielded against Flamengo. [From the defence up to the attack, left to right] Manuel Neuer starts in goal, with a backline of Josip Stanišić, Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah, and Konrad Laimer shielding him. Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović are the two midfielders, while Kingsley Coman, Jamal Musiala, and Michael Olise act as the supporting cast for Harry Kane in front.
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are squaring off...in Atlanta, Georgia...under a dome...in July. Club World Cup action...catch it! In all seriousness, this is the most exciting and combative matchup of the tourney to date and should be filled with fireworks from both squads.
