EVERTON WOMEN'S MANAGER SORENSEN SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

Brian Sorensen has committed his future to Everton Women by putting pen to paper on a new contract.

The Dane will also continue his working relationship with assistant Stephen Neligan, with both men agreeing extensions until June 2026.

After joining the Blues from Danish outfit Fortuna Hjorring ahead of the 2022/23 season, Sorensen led Everton to an impressive top-six finish in the Women’s Super League in his maiden campaign.

Although this season has been one of frustration, the Toffees have earnt a reputation as a strong footballing side packed with with young stars and international players.

The news comes just after midfielder Lucy Hope gave her backing to Sorensen’s footballing style and philopsohy.

“I’m very happy - I really like it here. I like the Club, I like the people in the Club and I like the fans,” Sorensen told evertontv.

“There’s a plan in place, we have a good future and a good squad going forward. I think it’s important to show in the background there’s a plan.

“Results this season haven’t been the best at times - injuries to key players have been a big part of that - but we are performing extremely well and we have a good group. We want to continue working on that. The building blocks are there.

“This is one of the best groups I have worked with, for sure. They stick together and believe. In tough times, they’ve found the wins - games like West Ham away, Villa away - that really shows the character of the group.

“We’re all determined to keep moving forward with Everton.”
